Preview: Clarence Red Devils vs. St. Mary's Lancers
The Clarence Red Devils will be home for the holidays to greet the St. Mary's Lancers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Wednesday, Clarence didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Amherst Central, but they still walked away with a 60-55 victory.
Meanwhile, St. Mary's sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 89-86 win over Lockport on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for St. Mary's.
Griffin Smith and Israel Wilson were among the main playmakers for St. Mary's as the former scored 30 points along with six rebounds and the latter went 7 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 31 points and 0 assists. Another player making a difference was Will Szablewski, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
The victory got Clarence back to even at 1-1. As for St. Mary's, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
