Football Recap: Pine Ridge Find Success

Pine Ridge's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They won a match that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Atlantic Sharks 27-26. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Sharks back in March, they had to take a 7-0 loss.

Pine Ridge's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Greta Carlson, who rushed for 20 yards and two TDs, and also threw for 63 yards and a pair of touchdowns. What's more, Carlson posted two passing touchdowns, the most she's had since back in February. Serenity Gorham was another key player, picking up 28 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Pine Ridge didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Carlson.

Pine Ridge now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Atlantic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-5.

Coming up, Pine Ridge will head out on the road to take on Seabreeze at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Panthers 8.5, the Sandcrabs 8.1) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Atlantic, they will challenge University at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
