Basketball Recap: Newcastle Takes a Loss

Newcastle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 92-50 loss at the hands of the Douglas Bearcats. The Dogies were probably out for revenge after losing 69-22 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Newcastle's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Douglas, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-4.

Newcastle will take on Tongue River at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Newcastle is facing Tongue River at the right time seeing as Tongue River is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Douglas, they will head out to challenge Torrington at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th.
