Softball Recap: Pojoaque Valley Takes a Loss

Pojoaque Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 20-8 to the Los Alamos Hilltoppers. Surprisingly, this marked the sixth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Allayah Rios was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Izabella Lujan, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Pojoaque Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Los Alamos, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Pojoaque Valley will challenge rival Espanola Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Los Alamos is set to square off against their familiar foe Moriarty at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
