Holyoke fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Pope Francis Prep on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Pope Francis Prep Cardinals by a score of 77-74. The Purple Knights' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Holyoke's loss came despite strong showings from Aiden Cabrera and Jordan King-Perilli. Cabrera dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten boards, while King-Perilli went 10 of 13 en route to 22 points and three steals. Cabrera is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Chauncey Ruiz was another key player, putting up ten points and three blocks.

Having lost for the first time this season, Holyoke fell to 8-1. As for Pope Francis Prep, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
