Softball Recap: Lakeland Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lakewood Park Christian on Saturday, Lakeland came back down to earth. The Lakers fell 7-3 to the Eastside Blazers on Monday. The Lakers have struggled against the Blazers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Lakeland saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylee Waldron, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one run. Kaia McNamara was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Lakeland's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Eastside, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

Lakeland will take on Wawasee at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eastside, they will challenge Central Noble at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Blazers surely won't give up without a fight.
