Basketball Recap: Payson Gets the Win

Payson hadn't done well against Alchesay recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Payson Longhorns managed a 53-49 win over the Alchesay Falcons. This was payback for the Longhorns, who suffered an 85-56 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Aldan Parsons had an outrageously good game as he went 7 of 10 on his way to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Waterman-Echols, who posted seven points and seven rebounds.

Alchesay lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Adrian Dosela, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 15 points. Another player making a difference was Judah Yazzie, who put up 11 points.

The victory made it two in a row for Payson and bumps their season record up to 7-9. As for Alchesay, their record now sits at 15-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Payson will welcome Benjamin Franklin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Alchesay, they will host Show Low at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Alchesay is facing Show Low at the right time seeing as Show Low is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
