Volleyball Game Preview: Jackson Polar Bears vs. St. Edward Eagles

The Jackson Polar Bears will challenge the St. Edward Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Jackson is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Ohio's top teams: Hudson, who was ranked 17th at the time (Jackson was ranked 13th). The Polar Bears walked away with a 3-1 win over the Explorers on Tuesday. While the Polar Bears didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Jackson got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 32-30, 25-22, 16-25, 25-19.

Meanwhile, St. Edward entered their tilt with Medina on Wednesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Battling Bees by a score of 3-1.

The final score came out to 25-19, 26-28, 25-17, 25-19.

St. Edward's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. As for Jackson, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Jackson was able to grind out a solid win over St. Edward in their previous meeting back in March, winning 2-0. Do the Polar Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
