Baseball Game Preview: Ambridge Bridgers vs. Hampton Talbots

For the second straight game, Ambridge will face off against Hampton. The Bridgers will venture away from home to square off against the Talbots at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Ambridge took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Hampton a 5-0 shutout.

Not much got past Joe Leseiko, who gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Hampton off the board. Leseiko also tossed a walk, which is notable because Ambridge is 3-0-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 2-4 otherwise.

At the plate, Ambridge saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liam Baker, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Ambridge now has a winning record of 5-4-1. As for Hampton, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.
