Soccer Game Preview: Clayton vs. Cleveland

The Clayton Comets will venture away from home to square off against the Cleveland Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Monday just wasn't the day for Clayton's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Corinth Holders on Monday. Clayton have struggled against Corinth Holders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Cleveland had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on South Garner with a sharp 3-0 victory on Tuesday. The score was close at halftime, but Cleveland pulled away in the second half with two goals.

Clayton's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Cleveland, their win bumped their record up to 4-12-1.

Clayton came out on top in a nail-biter against Cleveland in their previous matchup back in April, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Comets since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
