Softball Recap: Marbury Bulldogs vs. Bibb County Choctaws

Marbury was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss. They fell 15-12 to the Bibb County Choctaws. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Choctaws this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-8 back in March.

Emma Hays led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. Hallie Esco was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Marbury's defeat dropped their record down to 2-21. As for Bibb County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-23.

Coming up, Marbury will be playing at home against Alabama Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.8 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bibb County, they will venture away from home to square off against Northridge at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
