Recap: Carver High School of Engineering & Science vs. Paul Robeson Huskies
Carver High School of Engineering & Science lost to the Paul Robeson Huskies back in January of 2023, but Carver High School of Engineering & Science didn't allow the Paul Robeson Huskies the same satisfaction on Thursday. Carver High School of Engineering & Science came out on top against Paul Robeson by a score of 60-48. Given Carver High School of Engineering & Science's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while Paul Robeson is ranked 552nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Anthony Brown was the offensive standout of the game as he scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Matthew Mcfield, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Carver High School of Engineering & Science pushed their record up to 11-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points per game. As for Paul Robeson, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carver High School of Engineering & Science will take on Northeast at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Paul Robeson won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Olney at 3:15 p.m. on January 12th.
