Softball Recap: Burleson Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

Burleson posted their closest victory since February 15th on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Joshua Owls, sneaking past 6-4. This was payback for the Elks, who suffered a 1-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Addy Sellers, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Kealy Custead, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Burleson hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Joshua struck out six times.

Burleson is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. Joshua's record now sits at 8-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burleson will challenge Everman at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Joshua, they will face off against Mansfield Timberview at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mansfield Timberview has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.86 runs per game on average), something Joshua will no doubt try to take advantage of.
