Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Pleasant Grove

Pleasant Grove had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They blew past the Ponderosa Bruins 12-2. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly ten runs.

Madeline Lawson spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Logan Paredes was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Natalie Brozaitis, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.

Paredes wasn't the only one making solid contact: Pleasant Grove kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Pleasant Grove's record is now 5-2. As for Ponderosa, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pleasant Grove will venture away from home to face off against Rocklin at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Ponderosa, they will head out to square off against Bella Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
