Baseball Recap: Central Catholic Continues Home Dominance on Monday

Central Catholic barely beat Patterson the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Central Catholic blew past Patterson 15-8 on Monday. Considering the Raiders have won five games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Chase Perino, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Another player making a difference was Kayden McHenry, who scored two runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

Perino wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Central Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Central Catholic's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average this season. As for Patterson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.

Central Catholic will have a chance to go back-to-back against Patterson: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
