Preview: Hurricane Tigers vs. Cedar Reds

Hurricane and Cedar are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Hurricane Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Cedar Reds at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Hurricane is ranked 49th, while Cedar is ranked 21st).

Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 15 to 8 on the offensive boards, a fact Hurricane proved on Tuesday. They managed a 47-41 victory over Pine View. The victory was just what Hurricane needed coming off of a 65-31 loss in their prior contest.

Addison Crandall was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Nizhoni Dominguez, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and five assists.

Cedar posted their closest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Dixie out 53-50.

Hurricane is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. Cedar's record is now 12-4.

Hurricane and Cedar were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but Hurricane came up empty-handed after a 49-48 defeat. Can Hurricane avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
