Basketball Recap: Hilmar Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Hilmar can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They strolled past the Orestimba Warriors with points to spare, taking the game 63-48. For the Yellowjackets, this counts as revenge for the 70-20 win the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Hilmar was led to victory by Juelle Lindo and Aaron Solorio. Lindo went 9 for 14 on his way to 23 points, while Solorio went 6 of 13 en route to 12 points and five steals. Solorio is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last four games he's played. Cohen Felber was another key player, putting up six points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Hilmar smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Hilmar's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-13. As for Orestimba, they dropped their record down to 5-11 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hilmar will face off against Livingston at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hilmar is facing Livingston at the right time seeing as Livingston is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Orestimba, they and Aspire Langston Hughes Academy will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
