Saratoga Central Catholic and Tamarac are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Saints will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bengals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Saratoga Central Catholic will come into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
Saratoga Central Catholic barely beat Mechanicville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Saints put the hurt on the Red Raiders with a sharp 8-1 victory on Thursday. Considering the Saints have won 12 games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Tyler Weygand made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Weygand was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Hunter Fales was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jason Pescetti, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, Tamarac came up short against Greenwich on Thursday, falling 9-1. The contest marked the Bengals' lowest-scoring match so far this season.
Tamarac saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Gerik, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.
Saratoga Central Catholic pushed their record up to 15-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Tamarac, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Saratoga Central Catholic has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Tamarac struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
