Baseball Game Preview: Rancho Rams vs. Eldorado Sundevils

Rancho is a perfect 10-0 against Eldorado since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Rams will head out on the road to square off against the Sundevils at 4:00 p.m. Neither Rancho nor Eldorado posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Rancho's offense. They fell just short of Las Vegas by a score of 1-0 on Saturday. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Nolan Leppelmeier was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He is becoming a predictor of Rancho's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 6-12 when he doesn't).

Foothill hit Eldorado with a eight-run first inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Sundevils came up short against the Falcons, falling 11-0. The shutout was out of character for the Sundevils seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

Rancho's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Eldorado, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

Rancho skirted past Eldorado 6-5 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
