After a string of five wins, Wausau West's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Winneconne Wolves by a score of 2-1.
Ella Bohlin paced Wausau West's offense, picking up nine kills. Bohlin got some help from Ava Ngo and her nine assists. Addison Vaughn controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.
Leading Winneconne to victory were Bailey Church and Alyssa Koval. Church had 13 assists and seven digs, while Koval had eight kills, three digs, three blocks, and two aces. Those three blocks gave Koval a new career-high.
Wausau West now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Winneconne, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1.
Coming up, Wausau West will challenge Stevens Point at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Winneconne, they have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Chippewa Falls on the 13th.
