Softball Recap: Annapolis Comes Up Short

Annapolis made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Edsel Ford, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Cougars fell just short of the Thunderbirds by a score of 18-16 on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Thunderbirds: they've now lost six in a row.

Chloe Britton made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Alexis Mousseau was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles.

Annapolis' loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Edsel Ford, their win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-11.

Looking ahead, Annapolis will square off against Thurston at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.57 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Edsel Ford, they will take on Allen Park at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
