Softball Game Preview: Amador Buffaloes vs. Bradshaw Christian Pride

The Amador Buffaloes will venture away from home to challenge the Bradshaw Christian Pride at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Amador's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Bradshaw Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Amador is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest defeat since March 8, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 7-1 to Argonaut. The Buffaloes have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Bradshaw Christian hadn't done well against Rosemont recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Pride walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Wolverines. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pride.

Kaylee Hand spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Avery Slater, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Ortiz, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Bradshaw Christian's record is now 5-8-1. As for Amador, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6-1.

Everything went Amador's way against Bradshaw Christian when the teams last played back in March, as Amador made off with a 12-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buffaloes since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
