Recap: Lecanto Panthers vs. Citrus Hurricanes
The Lecanto Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 82-64 win over Citrus. The victory was nothing new for Lecanto as they're now sitting on five straight.
Jt Tipton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 29 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. The contest was his tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Patrick, who scored 20 points along with three steals.
Citrus lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Braden Villanueva, who scored 16 points. Landon Hensley was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with six assists.
Lecanto pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Citrus, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lecanto will be home for the holidays to greet Weeki Wachee at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Weeki Wachee will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 583rd, while Lecanto is ranked 166th). Citrus will be home for the holidays to greet Central at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
