Basketball Recap: Winooski Takes a Loss

Winooski was the 59-53 winner over Williamstown when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Winooski Spartans were just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 50-49 to the Williamstown Blue Devils. While the Spartans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Blue Devils 15-10 in the first quarter.

Nick Mascitti continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Williamstown, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards. That's the most points Mascitti has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Bailey, who posted ten points along with eight rebounds and five steals.

The loss snapped Winooski's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-3 record. As for Williamstown, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-5.

Winooski has already played their next matchup (against Milton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Williamstown will take on Stowe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
