Baseball Recap: Halifax Beats Upper Dauphin Area for Their Ninth Straight Win

Halifax won against Newport last Thursday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Wildcats came out on top in a nail-biter against the Upper Dauphin Area Trojans, sneaking past 7-5. The victory was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on nine straight.

Cohen Bechtel was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dayton Bittner, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Halifax pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Upper Dauphin Area, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Halifax will challenge Greenwood at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Upper Dauphin Area, they will take on Newport at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Buffaloes' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
