Basketball Game Preview: Thorsby Rebels vs. Shelby County Wildcats

The Thorsby Rebels and the Shelby County Wildcats will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are out to turn their luck around after having lost tight contests in their previous games.

Thorsby is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest loss since January 20th on Tuesday. They fell just short of Elmore County by a score of 27-25. The Rebels have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Shelby County unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Vincent by a score of 46-44.

Thorsby's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Shelby County, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-2.

Thorsby suffered a grim 63-43 defeat to Shelby County in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can Thorsby avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
