Baseball Game Preview: Bald Eagle Area Eagles vs. Richland Rams

The Bald Eagle Area Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Richland Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Bald Eagle Area blew Penns Valley Area out of the water the last time the pair played, but last Wednesday Penns Valley Area got their revenge. The Eagles fell just short of the Rams by a score of 6-4.

Bald Eagle Area saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Graysen White, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Teagun Runkle was another, going 3-for-4 with one run.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday Richland's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against Chestnut Ridge. While the Rams didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Maddox Vojtko made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Vojtko was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Talon Urbanek, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season.

Bald Eagle Area now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Richland, their record now sits at 7-0.

Bald Eagle Area was able to grind out a solid win over Richland in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, winning 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
