Baseball Game Preview: Batesburg-Leesville Panthers vs. Pelion Panthers

For the second straight game, Batesburg-Leesville will face off against Pelion. Batesburg-Leesville will be playing in front of their home fans against Pelion at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Batesburg-Leesville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.

Batesburg-Leesville's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Pelion as they made off with a 10-0 win. The victory continues a trend for Batesburg-Leesville in their matchups with Pelion: they've now won three in a row.

Not much got past Carter Bouknight, who gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks to keep Pelion off the board. Bouknight has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Braydon Hallman and Reese Boehnke did most of the damage at the plate: Hallman went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run, while Boehnke scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Those four RBI gave Hallman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Soper, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Batesburg-Leesville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pelion only managed one hit.

Batesburg-Leesville's win bumped their record up to 11-3-1. As for Pelion, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
