Softball Recap: Dundee Drops Season-High Score on Madison

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dundee). They put the hurt on the Madison Trojans with a sharp 23-15 victory on Tuesday. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by six runs or more this season.

Natalie Rath was a standout: she went a perfect 6-for-6 with five runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lacey Evans, who went 3-for-6 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Dundee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 22 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in ten consecutive contests.

Dundee now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Madison, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dundee will host Napoleon at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Madison, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Erie-Mason at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
