Baseball Game Preview: California Lutheran C-Hawks vs. Bethel Christian Kings

The California Lutheran C-Hawks will head out to face off against the Bethel Christian Kings at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. California Lutheran will be strutting in after a victory while Bethel Christian will be coming in after a defeat.

On Thursday, California Lutheran beat Calvin Christian 6-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the C-Hawks.

Mathias Galanos and Colton McGee made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Galanos pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, McGee pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Galanos has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. At bat, Galanos got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, while McGee went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Christian Sutton was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Meanwhile, Bethel Christian fell victim to Calvary Baptist and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 10-0 to the Cougars. The loss continues a trend for the Kings in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost four in a row.

California Lutheran's record is now 11-5. As for Bethel Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. California Lutheran has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bethel Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Everything went California Lutheran's way against Bethel Christian in their previous meeting back in March, as California Lutheran made off with an 11-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the C-Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
