Basketball Recap: Chancellor Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Cash Dodson and Larell Edwards

Chancellor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 57-50 to the James Monroe Yellow Jackets. The Chargers were probably out for revenge after losing 74-69 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Chancellor's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Larell Edwards, who went 9 of 18 on his way to 20 points and six boards, and Cash Dodson, who went 6 for 11 en route to 15 points and eight rebounds. Arie Wright also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Chancellor's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for James Monroe, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

Chancellor didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-28 defeat against Courtland on the 4th. James Monroe has also already played their next contest, a 57-50 victory against Culpeper County on the 4th.
