Baseball Recap: Livingston Takes a Loss

Livingston extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 8-14 in the process. They came up short against the Patterson Tigers, falling 8-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wolves have suffered against the Tigers since May 5, 2015.

As for Patterson, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-10. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games.

For Patterson's part, Trevor Green spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Green.

At the plate, Patterson let Max Medina and Tyler Thorp run wild. Medina went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Thorp got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one double. Those two runs gave Thorp a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jimmy Chagoya, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.

Coincidentally, Livingston and Patterson will both be playing Enochs the next time they take the field. The Tigers will head out to face the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Wolves will head out to face them at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
