Softball Recap: Milpitas Comes Up Short

Milpitas was the 6-4 winner over Homestead when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Trojans fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 6-5 on Thursday. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chloe Cabrera was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Solis, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Milpitas' defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 3-9. As for Homestead, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Milpitas and Homestead will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Trojans see the field they'll take on Mountain View at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Homestead, their break will end when they face Gunn at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
