Basketball Recap: Fordham Prep Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Jven Encarnacion and Brian Kapfer

Fordham Prep lost against Salesian back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Rams fell 56-48 to the Eagles. The game marked the Rams' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Brian Kapfer and Jven Encarnacion certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Kapfer shot 44% from the field to rack up 23 points, while Encarnacion posted 15 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Devlin Sharkey, who scored five points and three blocks.

Fordham Prep now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Salesian, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Fordham Prep is set to challenge their familiar foe St. Joseph-by-the-Sea at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. Meanwhile, Salesian will face off against rival Monsignor Farrell at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
