Recap: Rabun County Wildcats vs. Dawson County Tigers
The Rabun County Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 70-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dawson County. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Friday (60), Rabun County still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Rabun County still got an impressive performance from Cooper Welch, who scored 25 points along with 3 blocks. The contest was Welch's third in a row with at least ten points. Huey Blalock was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 10 points and 10 assists.
Rabun County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Dawson County, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rabun County will square off against Franklin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Franklin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Saturday. As for Dawson County, they will head out on the road to face off against West Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Hall will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 334th, while Dawson County is ranked 154th).
