Softball Recap: Waterloo Tigers vs. Wayne Eagles
Waterloo extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 4-3 in the process. They took a 13-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wayne Eagles. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 18-5.
As for Wayne, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.0 runs over those games.
For Wayne's part, Zoe Eaton was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That home run was Eaton's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn Scheid, who went 4-for-5 with three runs and two RBI.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Waterloo is set to take on their familiar foe Midlakes at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Wayne will square off against rival Palmyra-Macedon at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
