Volleyball Recap: Walsenburg Starts Season with Loss at Home

Walsenburg unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Swallows Charter Academy Spartans on Thursday, falling 3-0. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Walsenburg took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-16, 25-21.

Swallows Charter Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Coming up, Walsenburg will challenge Sangre de Cristo on Saturday. As for Swallows Charter Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against Ellicott at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
