Softball Recap: Noble Takes a Loss

Noble extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 2-5 in the process. They came up short against the Biddeford Tigers, falling 16-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 17-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

As for Biddeford, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.9 runs.

For Biddeford's part, Madi Roy was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. Roy has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Corinne Ramunno and Ayla Lagasse did most of the damage at the plate: Ramunno went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Lagasse went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs Ramunno has posted since back in May of 2024. Maddie Blais was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one double.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Noble will welcome Gorham at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Biddeford, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Marshwood at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
