Recap: Creekview Grizzlies vs. Woodstock Wolverines
The Creekview Grizzlies won the last time they faced the Woodstock Wolverines, and things went their way on Thursday too. Creekview took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 35-3 victory over Woodstock. Given Creekview's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while Woodstock is ranked 255th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Austin Guest was his usual excellent self, throwing for 151 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes. Jackson Stanley also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Creekview's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-7 Woodstock and 2-6 Allatoona (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 36.8% over those games). As for Woodstock, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Creekview will take on Rome at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. Rome is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Woodstock will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Sequoyah at 7:30 p.m. on November 3rd.
