Savannah extended their winning streak (dating back to last season) to 18 on Friday, bumping them up to 2-0. They came out on top against the Beach Bulldogs by a score of 54-44. The Bluejackets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

As for Beach, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.4 points over those games.

Beach's loss came despite strong showings from Jayce Jenkins and Jordan Newton. Jenkins posted nine points in addition to five rebounds and four steals, while Newton put up eight points and seven boards. Kejuan Ferguson was another key player, putting up nine points.

Savannah didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-29 loss against Butler on the 22nd. As for Beach, they will take on Douglas County in a tournament on Monday.
