Football Recap: Ganado Indians vs. Refugio Bobcats

Ganado and Refugio squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Ganado had to settle for second. They were dealt a 40-13 loss at the hands of the Bobcats. The Indians were red-hot offensively heading into the matchup (they scored no less than 31 points in the eight games prior), but the Bobcats' defense proved too tough.

Despite the loss, Ganado still got an impressive performance from Logan Bures, who rushed for 105 yards and one score on only 14 carries.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Refugio to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ray Lewis, who rushed for 168 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.9 yards per carry, and also threw for 104 yards and one TD on only nine passes. Lewis' rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his eighth straight game with at least 110 rushing yards. Zander Wills also helped out as he racked up 145 rushing yards.

With the defeat, Ganado broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-2. As for Refugio, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
