The Timnath Cubs will challenge the Boulder Creek Jaguars at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Timnath is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

Timnath's tournament run continued when they took on Holland Hall on Tuesday. Timnath fell 6-2 to Holland Hall. That's two games in a row now that the Cubs have lost by exactly four runs.

Timnath saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dane Wyman, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Boulder Creek). Everything went their way against Putnam City on Tuesday as Boulder Creek made off with a 13-2 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Chase Lile looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Boulder Creek let Matt Bentivolio and Cooper Finn run wild. Bentivolio scored a run while going 2-for-2, while Finn scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Bentivolio a new career-high in doubles (two). Titus Franklin was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Boulder Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Putnam City only posted an OBP of .278.

The win made it two in a row for Boulder Creek and bumps their season record up to 3-8. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Timnath, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
