Football Recap: Kansas Comets vs. Keys Cougars
Kansas was the 36-21 winner over Keys when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Comets came up short against the Cougars on Friday, falling 42-21. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Keys' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Treveon Guthrie led the charge by rushing for 107 yards and two scores on only ten carries. Another back making a difference was Garret Lemasters, who rushed for 74 yards and a pair of TDs on only nine carries.
The defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 2-2. As for Keys, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Kansas is set to take on their familiar foe Wyandotte at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Keys will square off against rival Colcord at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
