Baseball Game Preview: Montgomery Central Indians vs. Clarksville Wildcats

Montgomery Central hasn't had much luck against Clarksville recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m.

Montgomery Central came into this matchup off a tough six-run defeat on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Dickson County by a score of 6-4 on Thursday. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Montgomery Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Collin Ramey, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, Clarksville entered their tilt with McCracken County on Thursday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Mustangs.

Clarksville also got a great performance from Braden Taylor as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kayden Pledger, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Clarksville's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 27-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Montgomery Central, their loss dropped their record down to 9-17.

Montgomery Central might still be hurting after the 9-3 defeat they got from Clarksville in their previous matchup on Tuesday. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
