Recap: Canyon Lake vs. Blanco Panthers
Canyon Lake waltzed into Tuesday's matchup with four straight wins but they left with five. They walked away with a 52-41 win over Blanco. Given Canyon Lake's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 374th, while Blanco is ranked 1013th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Blanco still got an impressive performance from Mina Broyles, who scored 22 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. Broyles is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Isabella Mitchell was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Canyon Lake has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Blanco, they have fallen quite a ways from their 24-12 record last season and are now at 1-4.
Canyon Lake will head out on the road to face off against Lockhart at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Blanco, they will square off against Yoakum at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Yoakum focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 36 last Tuesday.
