Basketball Game Preview: Prior Lake Christian Royals vs. South Metro HomeSchool Huskies

The Prior Lake Christian Royals just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the South Metro HomeSchool Huskies at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Prior Lake Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully South Metro HomeSchool likes a good challenge.

On Monday, Prior Lake Christian lost to Rochester Area HomeSchool on the road by a 100-83 margin. The Royals were up 53-38 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Prior Lake Christian might have lost, but man, Elijah Wilson was a machine: he dropped a double-double with 34 points and 13 rebounds. Wilson's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Morgan, who posted 20 points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Prior Lake Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, South Metro HomeSchool earned a 71-64 victory over First Baptist on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now won seven in a row.

Prior Lake Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 20-9. As for South Metro HomeSchool, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Prior Lake Christian took their win against South Metro HomeSchool when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 67-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Prior Lake Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
