Basketball Recap: Jackson-Reed Tigers vs. Ron Brown Monarchs
The Jackson-Reed Tigers can now show off 18 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Ron Brown 81-17 at home. The victory was familiar territory for Jackson-Reed who now have 12 in a row.
Jackson-Reed's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Fort, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. Marcel Lane was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
Jackson-Reed pushed their record up to 25-2 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 46 points. As for Ron Brown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jackson-Reed will take on the Colts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Coolidge knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matches -- so hopefully the Tigers like a good challenge.
