Softball Recap: Charlotte Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Charlotte can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Lake Placid Dragons.

Dava Hoffer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Charlotte let Ragan Davis and Jaiden Halvorsen run wild. Davis went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI, while Halvorsen went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Those three hits gave Davis a new career-high. Nova Wharton also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Charlotte was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Charlotte's record now sits at 11-13. As for Lake Placid, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-12.

As of now, neither Charlotte nor the Dragons have any future games scheduled.
