Basketball Recap: Dixon Rams vs. Natomas Nighthawks
Dixon won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They took a blow against the Natomas Nighthawks, falling 79-36. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 675th, while the Nighthawks are ranked 172nd).
Natomas found their leader in sophomore Aeron Wallace, who went 8 for 14 en route to 24 points and five rebounds. That's the most points Wallace has posted since back in December of 2024. Diego Villanueva was another key player, going 6 of 8 on his way to 17 points.
Dixon's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Natomas, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-6.
Dixon will venture away from home to challenge Sutter at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sutter has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 191 points over their last three matches. Natomas has already played their next contest (against Woodland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
