Baseball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is River Ridge's Fifth in Last Six Outings

River Ridge extended their postseason success on Thursday against Springstead. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Eagles. That's the fourth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 9-6 victory on Wednesday.

Hagen Conner made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Tommy DeLoreto was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Cameron Kessell, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

River Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.

River Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Springstead, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-13.

As of now, neither River Ridge nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
